6 Rules of Clean UI Design
Hi there! 👋
I hope you’re having a great little week! 💜
In this week’s newsletter, we will talk about 6 ways to achieve a clean and polished look in your UI designs.
Also, at the same time as this newsletter goes out, there will be a reel on Instagram in which I reveal my face to the Designill community. After this newsletter, go ahead and check that out too! ✨
Let’s get into it! 👇
Rule 01 — Don’t use too many effects.
Less is more, so you shouldn’t use too many effects/styling if your aim is to create a clean design. Too many effects can really make your design look unprofessional, and apart from that, it won’t be easy to scan the content of the design.
Rule 02 — Use just a couple of colors.
The same applies here. The fewer colors are the better. Try to pick 2-4 colors and stick with those. It is easier to use just a couple of colors consistently throughout your design.
Rule 03 — Make big readable headings.
It is important to have a really strong hierarchy between your elements. This way, you can guide the user’s eye from the most important things to the less important ones.
Rule 04 — Make UI elements just a little bit rounded.
Making the corners just a bit rounded can give a clean & soft look to our design. And also, it is pretty trendy nowadays.
Rule 05 — Use bright backgrounds.
Bright backgrounds are usually a great choice for clean UI design. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t make a clean UI design in dark mode.
Rule 06 — Pay attention to white space.
It gives the design some breathing room and makes it easier to look at the design. White space can also help to organize the contents of your design. And well-organized design works tend to perform better.
This was it for this week. 🙌
If you’ve learned something, don’t forget to like this post, and have an awesome rest of your week! 💜
