Hi there! 👋
We hope you’re having an awesome week.
In this week’s newsletter, we are going to learn about 6 UI/UX design tips. These tips will take your designs to the next level. 🔥
Let’s get into it! 👇
Tip 01 — Use verbs as actions.
When you’re designing a dialog box you should avoid using generic words like “yes” or “no”. Use verbs, like “save” or “discard” so the user can decide without actually reading the dialog box.
Tip 02 — Primary action is last in the line.
You should always put your primary action (for example: “next”) as the last action. Since we read left to right, the user will have to look back to the primary action if it is the first in the line which is more effort for her.
Tip 03 — Use a strong visual cue for destructive actions.
Deleting an account is a dangerous action. You should always emphasize this action with strong color (for example, red) that catches attention. The user has to understand the consequences of this action so always explain it and ask for confirmation.
Tip 04 — Align numbers.
When using numbers, it is a common practice to align them to left or right since it is easier to compare the values this way. Don’t center align them.
Tip 05 — Use text with icons.
Icons can make it easier for the user to understand each option. Icons are not necessary, however, they can take your design to the next level.
Tip 06 — Group similar items.
When you’re designing a menu, you can group similar items by putting them into a box. This is because of the Law of Unity, which says, objects that are connected by lines or boxes are perceived to be related.
Well, that was it for this week. We hope you learned something. 🙌
